Celtic Winter Gathering Arrives in Shelburne this Weekend - Shelburne News
Former Shelburne resident and world class dancer Laura Donlan will be competing in the Highland Dance Competition during the Celtic Winter Gathering at ASIG on Saturday, Jan. 17.
The sixth annual Celtic Winter Gathering returns to All Souls Interfaith Gathering (ASIG) in Shelburne on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 16 and 17. The event begins at 7pm on Friday with acclaimed New York Irish-American super group Pride of New York, composed of Joanie Madden, Brian Conway, Billy McComiskey and Brendan Dolan.
The festivities at ASIG continue on Saturday, Jan. 17 with a first of its kind combination Irish Step and Scottish Highland Dance competition. The community is invited to learn about the two most popular forms of Celtic dance and see the region’s finest Celtic dance performers. The competition begins at 9am and will continue well into the afternoon. Scottish and Irish food, Celtic music, and workshops will be available throughout the day.
